ABOUT US
Wetland Environmental Learning Projects (WELP) is a registered 501(c) 3 organization, established in 2014. WELP has been formed to identify and evaluate wetland sites for improvements in the areas of wildlife habitat, water quality, endangered species protection and habitat development. Wetland development includes managing existing wetlands, monitoring various wetland restoration projects, all while creating opportunities for exploration and education for the public.

WELP believes everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the biodiversity and beauty Alabama has to offer. Participants are challenged to gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of our environment, and are encouraged to be good stewards of the environment through pollution awareness and hands on learning in outdoor classrooms.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to encourage good stewardship of the environment by
using wetland development projects as education and exploration
opportunities for the community.
OUR BOARD
We have a six (6) member board with experienced personnel in various fields of science and natural resources with a common goal of making a difference in young people and the community.
OUR COMMUNITY
We are currently serving the community in north Alabama, but we hope to expand and spread our mission throughout the southeast.
